Words alone cannot help get every child into school, but inspiring words and memorable calls to action can have a huge influence in the struggle to create lasting change especially for the most marginalized- CCW

Education is an absolutely necessary pre-condition of economic development.
Education, especially for marginalized children, is a worthy initiative that increases access to quality education opportunities for primary school children, especially those that have been marginalized by cultural practices, poverty… you name it!
That said, we ought to celebrate passionate leadership, which has driven some of our leaders to take on challenges that have disadvantaged the learning environment, especially in areas that have had a record of educational under achievement.
The CCW recognizes and appreciates such leaders who continue to work closely with all stakeholders in the education sector and taking consistent initiatives to encourage effective learning through parental and community participation, promotion of local activities aimed at improving teaching and education management.
And so, when Kilifi County women rep Hon. Getrude Mbeyu, led hundreds- community, parents, teachers, pupils and other local leaders in commemorating Education Day in Ganze constituency, which is one of the remotest areas in the County, it was all worth it!
Mbeyu has been a life-long champion of girls’ education and children’s rights and has raised awareness about the scourge of early child marriage and other practices that keep girls from reaching their full potential.
We celebrate these kind of formidable women leaders who continue to demonstrate through their work, and their leadership in social norm change. Mbeyu is one of the incredible role models for the County and the Coast region as a whole!
Mbeyu seems to understand that critical factor! Happy Education Day, Ganze!
Have a good one…
